Re.: FUCK! FUCK! FUCK FUCK!

A while a go I made a long post that I accidentally deleted prior to publishing. I’m not gonna try to repeat it word by word (to much work and besides, my memory is starting to go). Basically it was just an update on ammo availability locally and on the Internet and some chosen comments in that regard.

Self-defense ammo seems to be in plentiful supply, but who can afford to practice with ammo well over a dollar pr/bang for any length of time? Plinking ammo still suffers from the shortage, although things are getting better.

Local independent gun shops are starting to get some stuff in here in the north-east. I shoot .380 ACP, 9mm, 38. Special, .357 Magnum and .22 LR with 9mm eating up most of my ammo budget. Of these calibers the only one I absolutely haven’t been able to find is .22 LR which sucks, because it was pennies/shot. The local shops around my neck of the woods will mostly (but not all) take advantage of the shortage and fuck the customer. When (if?) the situation returns to normal I will return the favor by taking my business elsewhere. I will gladly drive 50 miles to do business with a nice guy than with the dickhead down the road,

You can pretty much get anything you want on the Internet now (unless you live in NYC, Chicago and parts of  Massachusetts and California if I’m not mistaken). The AR/AK crowd doesn’t seem to have anything to worry about at the moment besides Dianne Feinstein and possibly price. I don’t have a long gun so I’m not paying attention, but I see ads everywhere. Is $400 + shipping for 1,000 rounds of TulAmmo steel cased .223 reasonable? Online I’ve had good experience with Lucky Gunner. The best price for factory new 9mm ammo I’ve been able to find as of writing this post is Blazer Brass at $360/1,000 rounds (plus a somewhat hefty shipping fee) which is considerably down from the peak, but still about $160 more than pre 12-14-12. They also sell factory reloads at a slightly lower price.

I’ve also shopped a lot at Natchez Shooters Supplies and have received very good service, prices and shipping considering the panic.

The cheapest way to get ammo is still at Wal-Mart (biggest retailer of ammo in America which really irks the fucking shit out of me because I think Wal-Mart and other mega chains built around the same business model are ruining the fabric of America). It’s the luck of the draw if they have anything on their shelves, however, but their prices are the same as they were before before Sandy Hook. Oh yeah, and they’ll only sell you three boxes per day. But that’s fair enough I guess, giving everybody a chance to get some. There are 5 WMs within reasonable driving distance from where I live, so if I hit the jackpot I can I can get 15 boxes (don’t matter if it’s 25 or 100 rounds/box; they count boxes, not rounds) on a road-trip, 30 if I bring along the wife. On the other hand I could also end up empty-handed. Such is life.

The moral of the story is if you’re out shopping anyway, whether it is at Wal-Mart or some other place that doesn’t steal the shirt off your back, buy a few boxes, even if you don’t need any at the moment,  that way you will always have a small stash for the next time the shit hits the fan. And it will

Also, support your local gun shop (if he isn’t a price gouging asshole). Drop by, have a chat, buy something even if you don’t need it, like some cleaning supplies or whatnot. It’s getting harder by the day for these guys to stay in business and we need them.

Breaking News! Assad Shown The Door By US Military

The United States Unilaterally Attacks Syria!

US conquer damascus

Recently turned hawkish president Barack Obama grabbed his newly discovered sack yesterday and ordered a full on attack on Bashar al-Assad’s armed forces in an attempt to put an end to Syria’s bloody civil war.

Patriot missiles were launched from US warships in the Mediterranean leaving the Presidential Palace in Damascus (aka Syria’s White House) a smoldering ruin. The dictator’s whereabouts, or even if he is alive, is unknown at this point, a spokesman from the Pentagon reportedly said.

Simultaneous air strikes where carried out against all known depots of chemical weapons, fingers crossed and hoping that the raids won’t disperse the chemicals and make a bad situation even worse. The good news is that in such an eventuality no US pants will be on the ground and local civilians will just have to tough it out.

American fighter planes in a coordinated attack.also effectively grounded the Syrian air force in a massive strike taking out more than 90% of the dictator’s war planes.

In a speech just a few minutes ago President Obama said that America’s actions were legally and morally justified since the “international norm” post World War II is that you can’t carry out mass killings of a civilian population. This norm was established after the US targeted two large cities in Japan and dropped the only atomic bombs to ever be used in wartime on hundreds of thousands of designated civilian Japs. Less a crime of war, it was considered by American top brass, politicians and scientists as a lab experiment. A successful lab experiment; who’s gonna dare fuck with us now? Historians have long since vindicated Harry Truman. The legal council in the White House is in the process of drawing up a whitepaper legitimizing the president’s actions. He added that we will be greeted as liberators.

Both Russia and China have condemned the United States’ unilateral action in the UN and say that America has brought the entire region to the brink of a conflagration that may be impossible to put out. Iran’s president Hassan Rouhani says the Zionists in Washington have gone too far this time. The Iranian military has been mobilized and there are unconfirmed reports of nuclear missiles being aimed at Israel to “wipe the Zionist dogs off the map once and for all” coming from unnamed Iranian sources close to the clerical rulers. The American ambassador to the UN countered with a statement that America will take “all and every necessary precautions” to stop Iranian aggression. He finished his statement by saying “the US doesn’t need anybody’s stinking permission to do the whatever she wants”.

The long and arduous process of rebuilding Syria to a functioning democracy based on American principles of freedom and liberty will begin once the dust settles, Obama added, saying that thousands of US troops must be committed to the task possibly lasting over a decade or more, and billions of dollars will have to be spent. Using executive privilege he declared all civilian contracts non-bid and gave them to Halliburton and Blackwater who immediately subcontracted them to friends and family. He did not speculate as to the exact amount, but said the money presses at the Federal Reserve are in the process of being upgraded and overhauled, plans for quantitative easing on an unprecedented scale are being finalized and you can pretty much kiss any hopes of tax relief goodbye.

This is a breaking story and we will update as it develops. Not a word of it is true. Yet. Sit tight and don’t switch channels as I shake my magic snow globe.

UPDATE 1

A half hour ago EST Israel launched a pre-emptive nuclear strike against Iran’s capital city of Tehran.

What used to be Tehran.

What used to be Tehran.

Within minutes the Israeli launch was detected and Iran retaliated with a nuclear attack on Tel Aviv. Based on the half-life of weapons-grade Uranium, Israeli beaches in the area will be inaccessible for quite some time.

Armageddon finally reaches the Holy Land in the form of a nuclear bomb from Iran

A guy down the road from where I live, on condition that we preserve his anonymity, commented hastily that America now seems to be caught between a rock and a really, fucking hard place, as he rushed to the store to buy ammo, beef jerky, bottled water and iodine tablets.

UPDATE 2

The Pope has declared that God has deemed that the situation in the Middle-East qualifies as the Rapture. If you are reading this message you are not one of the chosen. The Pope himself was also left behind and was later found having committed apparent suicide by hanging himself from the shower curtain rod in the papal bathroom while performing an act of auto-erotic asphyxiation.

UPDATE 3

The Antichrist is having a field day with us who are left behind. Earlier predictions that the boogey man would be Obama turned out to be inaccurate. The real Angel Of Darkness is now confirmed to be Donald Trump, as all signage on his properties abruptly changed from TRUMP to 666. Hell will be watching reruns of The Apprentice for all eternity

FUCK! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!

I just was finishing up a really long post and the fucking computer crashed on me. I fucking HATE it when that shit happens!

I’ll see if I can recreate it by memory soon. It was a public service announcement for shooting folk and I thought it was really good,

Virgin Gun Post

Just to get the Guns, Ammo & Shooting category going. In my old age I went and got myself a gun permit. After some back and forth and quite a few dollars down the drain (due to my own ignorance), I’ve ended up with a Springfield XDM Compact 9mm as my “main” gun. I have several at this point, but I’ve noticed that gun guys like to refer to their favorite gun as their “main gun”, my “EDC gun” (everyday carry gun), “my CCW (concealed carry weapon) and other such macho terms.

Personally I don’t carry anything but myself, and with dignity to boot, even though my CT permit entitles me to both concealed and open carry. At this point I’m quite happy to leave my gun at home unless I’m on my way to the range.

The photos shown are stock photos stolen from Springfield Armory’s website. The short magazine holds 13 rounds, and the extended 19. I’ve added a pinky extension to my short mag to improve the grip, but honestly I don’t notice much of a difference. It looks cool, though. I’ve become quite proficient at making holes in paper at 15′ distance. So if you’re a piece of paper up to no good, stay away from my house, or else…

I’m NOT a member of the NRA, by the way. Through a convoluted  process I’ve come to support the 2nd amendment to our constitution (in my interpretation, mind you), but I’m not a single-issue voter. The NRA (National Rifle Association of America), although they claim to be a single-issue organization, is far from it, and has a long list of political agendas that I’m not prepared to fund. I guess you could call me armed and liberal.

The Springfield XD and XDM series of semi-automatic pistols are made in Croatia, by the way. God bless America!
