Winter Storm Nemo

So me and the Missus just got done digging ourselves out from 2.5′ (that’s 75 cm for those of the metric inclination) of snow dumped by nor’easter Nemo (really, the need to name winter storms too?). We started out with two snow blowers; a monster Craftsman with double wheel sets and a small Toro. The Craftsman broke after one pass of our 400’+ driveway and the Toro had to pick up the slack, which it did remarkably well. The Craftsman has given us nothing but trouble since day one and I’ll try to get rid of it as soon as possible. It’s a $2,500 monster truck of a snow blower and was easily outdone by the measly Toro. Next I’ll get a big Toro. Because I live in the ‘burbs, where the driveways are looooong. And in New England where the snow is much. But no trees fell on our house and we didn’t lose power, so there’s that. Then we found an open supermarket (Super Stop & Shop in Monroe), bought a lot of candy and stuff, rented a movie on Amazon, ate ’til we got sick and that’s the end of the story. The movie was “Flight” with Denzel Washington. Don’t waste your money.

  1. Oh the “dig” urges!! At least we got to help that kid out that was stuck with his car. And Flight, I liked it. Denzel….. always good. 🙂
Good thing we loaded up on carbs last night as we’ll need it today. 🙂
